Didn't take as long as I expected. In fact they happened on July 14 but I just found out today. My cardiologist started me on a new medication and ordered a drug concentration level to know whether to lower or increase my dosage. Went to lab, had blood drawn and awaited results.
Received a call from radiologists office on Wed saying that I had to have a repeat blood test . Awaiting lab slip that I told was being mailed to me.
Since I have to go to the specialist on Thurs, I went to cardiologists personally today to pick up my last EKG and drug test. Was given EKG but told that the drug test was never done. Not believing my ears, I drove to the lab (1/2 hr drive) to inquire why the test was not performed. They send blood to another lab for testing and knew nothing about it not being done. I requested she call the other lab to get an answer.
She called but no one could tell her why the test had not been performed. Perhaps it was the tube, perhaps it was something wrong with my blood, perhaps something else. Unbelievable.
I had her copy my lab slip to prove that I had gone for the testing. Now to really have confidence that everyone knows what they are doing, I read every line on my lab slip and they have my gender as male. No big deal but an error none the less.
This is really scarey. 7 errors in 3 months with my records alone. And from 3 different sources. I hope I am never unconscious when I need medical intervention. I am going to double and triple check everything. They are all going to hate me but that is the price I have to pay because the medical profession is so incapable of doing anything right.
