  • We are back from Italy, hello everybody...

I missed you all, and am very glad to be back home.

The trip was great, an adventure upon adventure.

We are pretty tired, so I won't be posting much for a day or so. Just wanted to say "hello".

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Welcome back to the one of many European travelers on this board. Look forward to your report.

Thanks for the warm welcome back! The theme of our trip was defined early....AVENTURA!

We left PHX on a very complicated itinerary, with American Airlines because we used our FF miles for the air.

Needless to say, when we hit Dallas, there was a storm, so we were sent to Abilene for refueling so we could circle DFW.

Arrived late for our connection to Raleigh, so we got to the AA desk in time to get rerouted.

Long story short, instead of getting to Torino via London Gatwick as originally planned, we had to go thru Paris. We have never been to Paris, and the airport there was insane, with little help in making our connecting flight....a miracle happened and we managed to find our way thru terminals and buses and get to the plane. However, our arrival into Torino was met with the usual: NO BAGS! Our bags were not delivered to us until day 4 of the trip, and that was only because our cugino called the baggage personnel at Torino with "an offer they couldn't refuse."

Day 5, off to Venice. TBC.....

Sounds like it was Aventura! Four days without bags, how awful, but it sounds like you make the best of everything and always enjoy your experiences. Can't wait to hear more.

I know it takes a while to get acclimated and catch up on things at home but I am waiting for the next installment.

I'm hoping you didn't have to spend too much on clothing waiting for your bags to catch up to you.

I almost booked our London trip on AirFrance thru Paris but the replies to that post made me think better of it.

Glad you are back and I do hope you enjoyed this trip as you put so much planning into it!
