I'm so sorry Lawren. Your son was very brave to dig Spot's grave. That was the last service he could perform for his beloved pet, and he will be a better person for the experience. It is so hard.

Oh Lawren, I am so sorry to read this just now. I was so sure that Spot would make it after reading your last update.

It must be very hard for your DS because he had her for so long but your family did your very best to get Spot better. What courage your son had to dig the grave himself.

I know how hard that is. I lost Booker at the beginning of May. Lost my mom about three weeks ago, and the loss of Booker was no less difficult.

People don't often understand how significant and distressing it is to lose a long-time family member who happens to be a pet, and they discount the emotions involved. They are morons.

I agree with you completely, and am sorry to hear about losing your friend Booker.

My father passed away in Dec, as well as my less than 2 year old dog, Max. I think I grieved harder and longer for my dog, since my father had a long life and was not enjoying a good quality of life any longer. Thankfully my father passed away in his sleep as well.

I feel so sorry when someone has to say good-by to one of the furry family members. I do know of your hurt. I have had cats all my life and it hurts so so deep when they pass on. Please, cry now and the wonderful memories will be there soon. I still cry when I think of mine, some back when I was a kid. Please know there are many who know what you are dealing with. My prayers are with you.
