I'd like to thank you all for your support and understanding of how upsetting it is to lose the smallest member of our little family. I can't tell you how much it means to me.

So many people just don't get it.

If there is one small glimmer in all this, it is that we were home with her and she did not choose to leave while we were away and K was taking care of her.

Hoc thank you for taking the time from your own gieving of both Booker and your mom to console me.

I agree with you completely, and am sorry to hear about losing your friend Booker.

My father passed away in Dec, as well as my less than 2 year old dog, Max. I think I grieved harder and longer for my dog, since my father had a long life and was not enjoying a good quality of life any longer. Thankfully my father passed away in his sleep as well.

I know how hard that is. I lost Booker at the beginning of May. Lost my mom about three weeks ago, and the loss of Booker was no less difficult.

People don't often understand how significant and distressing it is to lose a long-time family member who happens to be a pet, and they discount the emotions involved. They are morons.

I'm sorry for your loss, and wish you the best in getting through it.

I am so sorry, I sounded completely insensitive to the loss of your mother in my previous post! I am so very sorry about the loss of your mother, as well. I guess I was just focused in on the dog loss part of the thread.
