  • Thank you, Hertz Car Rental: Minneapolis/St. Paul airport

Last week DH & DS were in South Dakota pheasant hunting @ a private preserve (rained all 5 days, very muddy, but they each brought home 21 birds ). The owner gave each of the hunters an artists proof picture of 2 pheasants, which were in a large white shopping bag. Fast forward to the airport car return...DS is loading up the cart with 2 coolers, 2 large suitcases, 2 carry ons and a large, 2-gun case, while DH is 'supervising' DS. Off they go to check in. As they were taking off, DH asked DS.."did you get the pictures?" "No, I thought you had them," was DS answer.

They arrived at RSW and we got the various bags to the 2 cars (our DD picked up DS) and DH & I went back to Hertz. All we got was a phone #, which DH called when he got home...the lost & found was closed until Monday. But he left a message telling where the car was parked, what kind it was and what the pictures looked like.

Sunday morning he got a call from Hertz...they had the pictures :cheer: and he gave them our credit card # and said to mail them the 'regular' way.

Just about an hour ago I heard something, went to the door and DHL was just leaving. They had just delivered the pictures!!!! Now THAT is service.

Many years ago I was on a business trip in Idaho for a cut-over. The customer barely left me time to throw my National Emerald Aisle car into it's slot and make my plane. They were shutting the gate doors as I got there!

I noticed on the way home that I had left some floppies. BUMMER

5 days later those floppies showed up at my home.

To this day if National is even CLOSE to a good price I rent from them.

Nice way to build customer base but getting rarer by the day.

I am glad Hertz went the extra step for you
