Thinking about getting the Keurig, single cup coffee maker....

I'm thinking about getting a few of these as Xmas gifts, but I'm not sure if they're any good.

When I was in Spain, our timeshare had a single cup Nespresso maker by Nestle. It made espresso, and Lungos's. They were delicious, and I loved the fact that it made fresh coffee, a cup at a time. It was very fast, simple, and no clean-up.

I thought about getting the Nespresso maker, but that machine doesn't make regular coffee. Although, the Lungo was more like regular coffee than espresso, and better, IMHO.

Not sure what to do, and Xmas is almost her. I appreciate any thoughts.

I have one and I love it. However, I like to drink flavored coffee and I do notice that it doesn't come out as strong as brewed coffee. I've tried stronger k-cups (non-flavored) that are good though.

Why don't you go to Williams Sonoma or someplace where they might have a demo one out, and give it a try? If you like the coffee then you will love the machine. I love being able to offer someone coffee/tea/hot chocolate without having to do any work. (My girls love the hot chocolate option as well.)

I was thinking about getting one for DD when she goes to college. I like the reservoir part, so you don't have to pour the water in every time.

They were demonstrating them at Bed Bath & Beyond last year before Xmas, and I had a cup of one of the "robust" coffees and thought it was very good. Remember BB&B has 20 percent off coupons, too. (I can send you some if you need them.)

I think it's great for someone who is single, or the only coffee drinker in the house, or enjoys one cup of coffee. In my house, DH and I go through a 10 cup pot in the morning, and i would hate to have to make a fresh cup each time. Also, I like to use my TS4ms monster mug, which is (I think) too large for the single cuppers.

I did try one at a friend's this summer -- coffee was fine, but I prefer the beans I get delivered.... so also probably not great for someone who has a coffee preference.

I've had my Keurig for about 6 months and love it. There is a large variety of excellent coffees which while not inexpensive are at least of decent quality. You can also buy a reusable filter which would allow you to use your own coffee and save lots of money. I would venture to guess that cleaning the replacable filter is some work but not too much.

I am the only one in the house that drinks coffee. I still use the pot on weekends, but use the Keurig in the evening, or to make a cup and run out of the house.

I did buy mine using a 20% BB&B coupon, and while it may be a little pricey, I've been very pleased.

Costco was demonstrating it. It was $129 and came with an extra box of coffee's...I think you got around 200 individual servings. Don't know how this compares to Bed Bath and Beyond. I am thinking about it also.

I think I saw the $199 one. If Costco is selling one of these for $129, that seems like a good price because of the 200 K-cups. They're 18 for $10 normally. Less 20 percent, of course!

Costco was demonstrating it. It was $129 and came with an extra box of coffee's...I think you got around 200 individual servings. Don't know how this compares to Bed Bath and Beyond. I am thinking about it also.

Hmmmmm, I'm not a member of Costco. I do know people that are, tho. I'm sure I can get one of them to take me there.

I do have a 20% off coupon for BB&B, tho. I guess whatever store I can get to, is where I'll get it.

I think I'm gonna get the large one. It holds 60 oz of water, and heats a fresh cup of coffee in 60 seconds.

I like the idea of having the choice of decaf, if you want, or reg, or tea, or hot chocolate. I also like the idea that each cup is brewed fresh.

I'm not really sure about the k-cups. I haven't actually been to BB&B yet, so I'm not sure if they sell them.

I think they now sell a reusable metal filter, (it's the same size as the pods) so that you can use any coffee that you'd like. Is that the k-cup?

They show the coffeemaker online, and they had the K-cups last Christmas, so I'm thinking they have the K-cups in there somewhere.

Get a real good Espresso machine. I love my Lazazza and the instant hot water for tea or Cocoa is great.

You may already be aware of this, but Amazon has the machines, reusable filter and K-cups. I don't have the machine, but I remember seeing the Keurig stuff when browsing, so I just double checked and it appears they have quite a variety of supplies. It appears as though you can do the K-cups on a subscription basis and cut 15% off the price.
