Anybody watch "The Next Great American Band" reality show? It played on Friday nights and just had its finale two night ago. I watched it off and on over the season and I found it really quite good. It showcased talent from around the country with all styles of music from Rock 'n Roll, to new wave, to Bluegrass, to Jazz and more. Each week, the bands were to play a different artist or to play originals.
To me, the standout band was "The Clark Brothers." They ended up winning the competition and deservedly so.
Here are several of their performances that should make many run to the store to buy their first CD when it comes out. I certainly will be one of the first in line.
For Rolling Stones lovers:
Gimme Shelter
This performance would bring down the house ANYWHERE.
For Eric Clapton lovers:
Change the World
This video also has an outstanding performance of the ballad "Amazed" by Lonestar and an original gospel song "Faith, Faith, Faith" by The Clark Brothers. These 3 performances were in the finale.
For Rod Stewart lovers:
Your in my Heart
This performance made Sheila E speechless... this band conveys emotion like no other.
For Billy Joel lovers:
She's got a way
