Easter in the United States:

Easter, a holiday that is celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is observed on these dates:


2007 - Sunday, April 8th
2008 - Sunday, March 23rd
2009 - Sunday, April 12th
2010 - Sunday, April 4th

Easter Monday is celebrated on the following dates;

2007 - Monday, April 9th
2008 - Monday, March 24th
2009 - Monday, April 13th
2010 - Monday, April 5th

This reminds be of a story which happened many years ago.

My dad died near Easter and my son, who at the time was 6, said to me.."Don't cry Mom...he's going to rise again in 3 days.."

This happened over 20 years ago and I still laugh about it

And if you are Greek or Eastern Orthodox your dates are:

2008 - Easter Sunday - April 27th
2009 - Easter Sunday - April 19th
2010 - Easter Sunday - April 4th (same)
2011 - Easter Sunday - April 24th (same)
2012 - Easter Sunday - April 15th

As you can see, occasionally the dates are the same as Westerrn Eastern.

and then we have the RCI exchangers forever guessing which week we will have spring break. Our public schools here in the northeast try to accomodate Easter and Passover.

So:

2009 Apr 9 First day of Passover
2009 -Easter Sunday, April 12th

2010 Mar 30 First day of Passover
2010 -Easter Sunday, April 4th



So which week will the schools be closed? My SWAG is the week PRIOR to Easter for both 2009 & 2010.
