Do you collect anything besides timeshares?

I'm also getting rid of paper -- old files and checks- some back to the 1960's. I recycled several boxes and still have more to go. I try not to collect anything anymore. I have a 100 or two t-shirts from vacations and no longer buy them or any souvenirs. Mrs. Tony has also virtually stopped her collecting.

I also used to do xmas ornaments but gave up after I had enuff to probably do eight trees. I had to stop cold turkey. I still collect magnets from all my travels, like Fern, place spacific. I love looking at my fridge reminiscing. My fronts are filled and I'm working on the side.

I used to collect those dang beanie babies , some are very rare. I'd love to get rid of them.

Kelli collects tshirts from vacations , concerts, wrestling, etc. I bet she has 400 or so. I want to scream.!!!! shaggy

Left out that I collect Christmas Ornaments and Magnets from places that we go to. We used to collect books from the areas but they take up to much space.

We do try to buy liquor from the area as well.

Magnets, postcards, cow creamers, sharks' teeth, shells, sea glass, rocks.

And sometimes small paintings, watercolors, tiles or plates to hang on the wall, from places we travel.

Real pack rat

We've downsized with each move made, but besides things hanging and sitting around, I've many a stacked box.

Paintings from Naples. Brass pitchers from Turkey (made in India). Stien from Germany. Tiles, blown glass figurines of bulls from Spain. Alabaster figurines of Greek gods from Athens. ETC!

Unusual pieces of stone and petrified wood. Miniture shells from Midway Island.

Concert ticket stubs, foreign coins, bills, receipts, stamps.
Photos of cities, parks, monuments, etc. Postcards from all over the world.

Restaurant menues, tumblers, placemats, napkins or coasters, matchbooks from wherever we have eaten that was worth remembering.

To-Do & See books & maps from the places traveled.

Every set of orders, travel vultures, promotion and award letters from 42 years of Naval and Civil Service life.

Report cards and passports. Photos Albums of freinds and family for over 70 years.

That's a many memorabilia or lots of my junk.

Wild life pictures (all signed & numbered) and State and National Duck stamp prints (many are 1st of state/country). And mugs and magnets from various places we've been to. Anything Labrador Retrievers. Our oldest daughter always brings us Christmas ornaments of places she has visited.

I collect kaleidoscopes. I only have about 15-20 of them and don't buy them that often, just due to the price. But, if I see an unusual one, I usually pick it up. When I went to Sedona earlier this year, one of the first kaleidoscopes I ever bought was made by a local artist named david Collier, who resides in Prescott. The store clerk in Jerome told me the artist was retiring, and it would be his last one so I bought it. All of my good kaleidoscopes are all signed.

Does Tax record count? I don't want to collect them, but I have problem to get rid of them especially those with the house(s). And stock (especially since they are deeply underwater and the brokerage firm has change hands).

My father used to make some personal stamps for himselves and my kids, so I have them as my collections.

Well, magnets & Christmas ornaments seem to be popular. I forgot that we, too, collect tree ornaments from our travels. Some are actually magnets converted to ornaments. We have slowed down on collecting them since many of our travels are repeat visits to our favorite timeshares and we have an imbalance of Hawaii & Disney themed items on our tree. I have a seperate tree for all the flamingo ornaments people have given me over the years.

Some of you have very esoteric collections.

Mine are pretty mundane. Not to mention cheap or at least cheaper than what some of you collect. I'd love to collect fine wines. That way my collection would never take up space and just become dust collectors. I would never have a storage problem and there isn't really a seasonal issue when it comes to appreciating fine wine.

I'm already getting a little melancholy thinking about packing up my santas and the ornaments for another year. At least with kaleidoscopes & magnets & wine & such (& even idiots) one can have them arround all year to admire.
