My life has been boring. Grew up in the same house until I married at age 20, then moved to the house I now live in for trhe past 32 years.

Well I got carried away... again.

I guess I like to count and recall all the moves.
27 houses and apartments plus numerous barracks and ships.
10 states... some we moved from and moved back again.
2 countries: Spain and the United States.

Joy, military must count. Somehow I got to be 70 with 42 being involved with government. I think I've lived… and rather enjoyed!

Grew up in Ypsilanti, Midland and Gladwin, MI. (5 houses) in 17 years.
                    Great Lakes, IL (bootcamp barracks)
                    Norman, OK 7 weeks. (barracks)
Military school, Millington, TN 32 weeks (barracks) and later 26 weeks. (apartment).
                    Johnsville, PA 2 years (barracks)
Oahu, HI 1 year, (2 houses).
San Diego CA 5 weeks (apartment)
                    Kodiak AK 5 mo (barracks)
Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, WA 7 mo (2 houses)
3 years at Rota and Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain. (3 houses).
3 years in Pensacola, FL (2 houses)

Tours aboard 2 ships (6 mo and 10 mo) included visits of Malta, Athens, Istanbul, Greek Isles, Majorca, Barcelona, Naples, Gibraltar, etc, etc. (2 residences, not quite prison ).

Va Beach, Norfolk, VA 6 years (3 houses).

Cadillac and Big Rapids, MI 2 years (2 houses) Too much snow.

Pasadena, TX 1 year (1 house). Too blasted hot and busy. Not pretty at all.

Gloucester, Newport News and Yorktown, VA (5 houses).

Given the option to live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live?

If it weren’t for wishing to be close to family and go visit friends on a whim... maybe Hawaii, northern Italy close to Switzerland, western Spain above Portugal. I found most of northwestern Oregon to be fascinating.

I've lived and traveled many places in my lifetime. Even road tripped (30 days) through portions of Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.

Have road tripped and visited for 2 to 10 days at a time including Newport RI, Brunswick and Rockport MN, Traverse City and Houghton Lake MI, Sedona and Scottsdale and Tucson AZ, Athens GA, Pompano Beach and Orlando and Jacksonville FL, Federal Way and Vancouver and Anacortes WA, Nice and Monterey CA,

Passed through beautiful Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado 2 different times, both in September or October.

Passed through canyon land of Utah in early October. Would not care to live there.

I thought Missouri and Kansas to be nice.

Spent several days in NC while on 2 different video shoots in KY& NC.
Several days in WA while on video shoot near Tacoma. Several days in CA, twice attending video school at San Jose and once doing a video shoot at Monterey.
Several days in CO while on video shoot at Colorado Springs.
I like the hills and mountains of VA, WV, Maryland, PA.

Passed through SC and GA, stopping many times over the years.
Spent a day, 2 different times in WI. Pretty state.
Stayed at a couple homes in OH (2 wks total). Not bad.

I guess we really like it here near the Chesapeake and the historical. We like water, trees and hills. Think we’d like it more near Charlottesville, but then we don’t want snow and blustery winter cold or wind.

We don't seem to be too anxious to move anymore!

Seems like you've moved around enough for a few lifetimes. It's wonderful to have seen so many beautiful places.

So many of you have experienced living in wonderful locations. I can definitely see myself living in Italy, (Sandcrab) and Spain, (Resort2me) for a while, anyway. What fun!

Alaska, and Russia.....What was it like living there? Alaska, brrrrrrr.

Count me among the boring. I was born & have always lived in No. California (3rd generation native.) Lived in the same house in the same town until I married (a 4th generation Ca. native) & then moved to the town down the road. We have moved 5 times in 39 years but only to 4 different towns, all in No. Ca., all very rural at the time & all within a few miles of the previous place. The last move was 12 years ago & was the farthest at 100 miles. I never want to move again but if I could afford a second home it would be in the San Diego area or Hawaii. I love to visit other states & other countries but have no desire to live anywhere else.
