  • How are you ringing in the New Year?

Each year for the past 10 years or so, we go to the same place, with the same people for New Year's Eve.

It's a local club that offers a reasonable night with dinner, dancing, and all you can drink. It's very close to our home, so we don't need to worry about driving a long distance. We use mostly small local roads to get us there, and back. It's nice to ring in the New Year with good friends.

    How about you?

Oh, Aruba, and fireworks sounds wonderful!!!......Everything sounds/looks wonderful the last few days. I think I really need a nice vacation, in a warm, sunny, location.

Nothing wrong with a nice quiet dinner at home, with your hubby.

We never go out for NewYear's. I hardly ever make it to midnight but we have a nice supper and then champagne and dip fruit in chocolate. Cozy up.

When I lived in the city all my friends in and around the complex would get together and that was always fun. Now I'm older and wiser ( or lazier) and find all I need is right here at home.

We have a bottle of champagne in the fridge, a movie waiting to be watched, so we'll be spending it at home. Dh and I used to go out (this was pre-kids) but stopped after the year we were almost hit when we were walking home!

I'm enjoying the unexpected luxury of day off with no plans. I was to be celebrating in London, but my father-in-law had a medical emergency on Wednesday, so London is postponed until the end of the month. Good thing Dad is doing okay, I had purchased II insurance for my Carlton Court trade, Continental allowed me to rebook at no charge (and gave me a refund of $74) and I had enough Hyatt points to replace the hotel portion later in the month.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008 to everyone!

I'll be recouperating from a day of snow shoveling, and getting ready for tomorrow afternoon's storm.
