Many places require you to tell them you have a discount coupon.when ordering. I like to order my food wait for the waitor or waitress to place my order and then remind them about my deal when they come back.

Anyone ever see a difference in your portion size? Buff/Scott

    Hi Buff,

I never thought of that. Aren't you the clever one?

I've never noticed a size difference between when I've presented a certificate or when I've 'forgotten' to.

Here's my question. Restaurant.com 'my account' has a place to mark certificates as used or unused, why don't THEY do it automatically???

They used to mark them used. I think it is because if the restaurant did not call it in you can go back with the same GC. If you are unsure of it you are not going to chance it.

I think this thread should go into the Restaurant Forum. SI-No

So, if you don't get an email survey about your dining experience can you assume that the restaurant did not call it in???

I would say yes. I have also thought about duplicating some because there is 1 right near me that I know has never called. But with the discount and the fact that it is a 50% off GC. The normal price to buy that one is $3 at a 50% off sale that's only $1.50, Use the 60% off sale and that is $1.20. For a about a buck I buy like 4 at a time. I just do not think it is worth being a sneak for the cheapie 50% GC. Now if you have one that costs more.

We are always upfront with the restaurant and waiter. I've never known to have been shorted. There's aways more food than we should be eating.

I agree with Frank, the 60 percent off deals make affordable the places we otherwise would never frequent.

I just ordered two certs which cost me $4 each. We have to spend $35 to use the coupon, but the coupon actually knocks $25 off the bill, so that is a savings of $21.

The coupons are good for a year, so we keep them handy in the car. When we're out and about and need nurishment, we don't look for fast food places.

By the way, when there is a group getting together, I make a point to stop by to inform the management that there will be 2 or 3 coupons. There has never been a problem. I always touch base with the manager to express appreciation.

Be careful with trying to use more than 1 GC. It states on the GC that you can only use 1. If you grease the MGR then he may or may not take it. I have tried with 2 and have been turned down.

The best discount i ever received was when we went to Disney with a 50% off GC with a huge crowd. The bill was over $700. Minus 50%

i think that place was Blaskervillas. I spelt it wrong but it is close. What was nice about the place it was a costume Disney with the characters Dinner. It was located by Down town Disney.
