  • Extreme Home Make-over

As long is this is to place to brag about sons and daughters, I'll have to tell you that my son is in New Orleans now...I think. He's an electrician out of Fargo, ND and the home builder that sub-contracts his electrical employer is now in New Orleans doing an Extreme Home Make-over. This is their/his second one. They did one a couple of years ago in Minot, ND. Well, supposedly EHM has selected the "best of the best" for contractors and they got invited to New Orleans. My son's wife emailed me last night and the electrical crew (3 guys) were delayed in Memphis due to snow storms. Were hoping to get out in an hour or two. That was 8:30 PM last night. Anyway, Ty...I think that's his name, called his cell phone to say that they were short of electricians and expect to be busy. Probably not good news as the crew hit all the bars at the Memphis terminal during their delay.

Worst part is, son and family are going to the Virgin Islands with us. Hoping he can connect with us in Minneapolis from New Orleans. It would have been so simple for him to fly to Miami and meet us there but no.....employer has his tickets round trip from Mpls and of course AA wouldn't amend his tickets from MSP to St Croix, USVI that they purchased long before this all came up. I think the lucky family was getting notified today. Believe it's supposed to air in May...whenever their season finale is.

Most folks don't realize that all these blue-collar folks actually donate their vacation time. Doesn't matter too much to him as the economy is pretty good up here so he doesn't get time to burn his vacation anyway.

Wow Sandcrab -- that's really cool. You'll have to let us know when it airs for sure. That show is really amazing -- I cry all the time when I watch it.

Kudos to your son -- you must be really proud
