The Power Of Love & When I'm 64

    Artist: Shirley Bassey
    Lyrics: The Power Of Love

    The whispers in the morning
    Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling by like thunder now
As I look in your eyes
I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

    But I'm your lady
    And you are my man
    Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

Even though there may be times
    It seems I'm far away
But never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

    But I'm your lady
    And you are my man
    Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

    We're heading for something
    Somewhere I've never been
    Sometimes I am frightened
    But I'm ready to learn
    About the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
    Made it clear suddenly
The feeling that I can't go on
    Is light years away

    But I'm your lady
    And you are my man
    Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

    We're heading for something
    Somewhere I've never been
    Sometimes I am frightened
    But I'm ready to learn
    About the power of love
    The power of love

    Aslo....

    Paul McCarthy.....When I'm 64

When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now, Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine? If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door? Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four? Hmm------mmm---mmmh. You'll be older, too.Aaah, and if you say the word, I could stay with you. I could be handy, mending a fuse, when your lights have gone. You can knit a sweater by the fireside, sunday mornings, go for a ride. Doing the garden, digging the weeds, who could ask for more? Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four? Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wightif it's not to dear. We shall scrimp and save. Ah, grandchildren on your knee, Vera, Chuck, and Dave. Send me a postcard, drop me a line stating point of view. Indicate precisely what you mean to say, yours sincerely wasting away. Give me your answer, fill in a form, mine forever more. Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty four?
    Angela

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I have to list three songs:
Our Song-one we reference often, usually me to her.
YouTube - Harry Nilsson - Lime in the Coconut - BBC Live Special 1972

The First Dance song-I picked it out, she loved the choice.
YouTube - Elton John - Something about the way you look tonight

A song we specially requested for dance-funny thing was, we were the only ones on the floor.
      YouTube - The Time Warp!

I remember, doing the Time Warp
        Drinking those moments when
        the blackness would hit me,
        the void would be calling....

We did something similar for a silly dance song, Walk the Dinosaur

We were married in 1974 and had this awful band (suggested by the wedding reception caterer). They were great for all of the old people (younger than we are now), but knew very little modern songs. We wanted "Sunshine" by John Denver but had to choose "Something" by the Beatles. When my son got married a couple of years ago, and it was very close to our 30th reunion, the band played "Sunshine" for us.

Everybody has a cooler wedding song than we do.

Should've been "Another One Bites The Dust", but it was the Hawaiian Wedding Song & The Wedding Song (Stookie's).

Yeah, we should start another thread on "Wedding Songs for Doomed Marriages."

                              Love Stinks
                              Another One Bites the Dust

I'm momentarily stuck. Help me! Dude Looks Like a Lady?

My friend had Bette Midler's The Rose, which is all about how love is horrible and you always end up wounded...but it turned out there was a WEDDING VERSION with pretty-pretty lyrics about how love is a delicate bloom to be nurtured blah blah blah. Anyway, they're divorced now.

The theme to "Dr Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" would be most appropriate.
