Lawren, way to go! Welome spring!
My daughter has been riding all winter. She was actually inducted into what they call "the cowgirls club" last night ( she was thrown for the first time).
Horse got spooked by something....
I was horrified of course as she just turned 9 the other day and I am always in "Mommie" mode...but she got right back on and did a slow walk for the rest of the lesson.
Maybe someday she'll be jumping around with you!

OK I know. We call that the old foundation, or the foundation loop. That's the old entrance to the Rockefeller estate.

Lawren called me while they were riding up to meet Silvia and I by the outcrop. Her girlfriends horse got lame (I hate to use that word) while they drinking from one of the streams that feeds into the Hudson. I think it was the right front leg/hoof. We walked across the foundation loop and Susan and I went over to pickup the trailer so they did not have ride back 2 miles with a lame horse.

What a fabulous horse!


This is the horse that got injured. You can't tell from looking at the photo but I think that is the hoof that is bothering this horse.

Thanks for the pictures. My grey's name is actually Triton like the Ford truck engine not Trident like the gum. He is a very good boy and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Has his stubborn moments but after 2 years together we get on fine. He has pretty much decided he'll do as I ask.

and Yes Geoffrey is the buckskin. So happy he is not "broken". What would I do if my best buddies horse was laid up for the hunter paces?

Speaking of Ford Triton. I really liked Sue's van. 4x4 10cyl Triton engine. 4 wheel rear axle! Guess you need that to trailer 3 horses to the park.

Kind of ironic that you need what is probably a 400 horsepower engine with loads of torque to tow 3 live horses.

Sure does knock the pants off my ford van!

Did you see the inside of it? Very nice custom job.

Kristen has a Ford 350 dually with a gooseneck 3 horse trailer.

The 3 horses total weigh about 3400 pounds, so you need big engines and lots of torque to haul them.

I am very lucky to have two good friends with nice rigs to haul us wherever we need or want to go! I'm happy to pay gas and tolls to go along.
