  • Saw my first Northern Oriole

My son came over to visit today and we were sitting on my back deck just talking and looking at the birds.

All of a sudden I saw this orange and black bird. It was sitting on one of the birdfeeders, then it flew to my dwarf cherry tree. It stayed there and went from flower to flower seemed like it was drinking nectar.

    What a gorgeous bird!!!

Not that I would have had a clue what bird I was looking at, but, I still would loved to have seen it. I looked it up so that I could see what they look like. Very beautiful bird, also called "Baltimore Oriole."

I've noticed some really pretty blue, and black, and red, and black birds in my yard recently. Also, very pretty, and fun to watch.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Congratulations! They are pretty rare around here although I have seen a couple over by the resevoir. Hopefully he has made his summer home near you!

I still get a high when the bald eagles are here in the winter.

I always need to ask what the new ones are when I see them.

Saw one last weekend briefly. I could not get my Oriole feeder out fast enough. I put the grape jelly and oranges on it, but he/she hasn't returned.

Three things I love about this weather.
Gardening, sitting having coffee on my deck and watching the birds and whatever other wildlife decides to come into view.
