[QUOTE=hliw;232352]Good morning. I turned 40 this week....it's not sitting well. Any inspiration would be appreciated......I just cannot believe I'm in this decade!QUOTE]
Happy Birthday.
I was going to come up with wisdom, not getting that, so lets try this ...
Your still younger than I am.
You have a family that keeps you young.
You certainly don't look your age.
If you don't need most of the pills they advertise on TV, you are not old at all.

You have made my day. Thank you

Cheers,
You are WAY younger than I am and quite a bit younger than my 3 kids, but not quite young enough to be my grand child. And remember you are only as old as you want to be. It bothered me more to become a Mother-I-Law than it did to turn 40...and I'm not a MIL to any one anymore, but I don't think I scared them away
40 is the decade of self confidence. You can truly be yourself, be comfortable in your own skin. You can have the courage to say "I don't want to do that" if you really don't. Peer pressure doesn't matter anymore. And if you are really having a hard time finding anything positive, you can always say ..."considering the alternative, I'm glad to be 40"!
I'm midway through my 40's and it's been great. Health is good. Family is good. Friends are plentiful.
I can't do stuff like I could in my 20's and 30's, but I am much smarter now than I was then. So, it's about a push.
Like the Rod Stewart song goes...."I wish, that, I knew what I know now.... when I was younger....."
The great thing about getting older is the memories and experiences you collect that widen your perspective on life and the world. What once was huge, is now small. What once was impossible either doesn't matter anymore or is within your reach.
As Forrest Gump once said, "life is like a box of chocolate... you never know what your gonna get." And, when it comes your way, just enjoy it for what it is.
Turning forty was a piece of cake when you turn 3 scores plus " you say to yourself and you look around and see how many of your friends are nolonger here. Then you will say thanks God for the big 40 and for living 3 scores."
