The American Red Cross has started a new promotion which they hope will help fill up the blood bank. They are offering free gas to those who donate blood.
The new promotion will enter blood donors into a raffle for free gas, among other gift cards and such.
The idea is to try and keep the high level of blood donations coming in through the summer months, as the supply usually goes down as they are not able to go to high schools and such.
Many people do it just to help out and hopefully save a life. With gas prices now nearing and exceeding $4 in some places around the U.S., this could be another incentive to try to give some blood, in return for some gas.
They will need around 23,000 people to donate blood through Labor Day to maintain the supply needed throughout the summer. -dbTechno
