  • Duct tape to remove warts!

Ok so my 9 year old daughter has a planters wart on the heal of her foot since around January). Now first let me explain she is the drama queen of all drama queens so having a needle/excision is out of the question here. So we tried the bandaid type of medicine (no luck- didn't do anything), used home freezing method (same result), used liquid wart remover (same reult).
So I am researching on the internet other methods of wart removing and I came across using Duct tape. I thought it was the weirdest thing I've ever heard so I read lots of testamonies and then I called a nurse friend and she had heard that it works.

Basically you just place the duct tape over the wart for about six days and it comes off.

Guess what? It worked. Yesterday afternoon was about day 7 (we have a pool and the tape came off from swimming alot and of course bathing) and she took off her shoes and socks off came the tape and the wart came with it, root and all!

Just wanted to share this amazing experience!

Didn't you know that duct tape is the universal cure-all?

Is this just for Planter's warts, or any type of warts?

I wouldn't have thought that would work, but maybe it somehow interferes with the blood flow to the wart???

Makes sense. Men know that duct tape is one of life's cure alls. The other one is WD-40. If it moves, duct tape it. If it doesn't, spray it with WD-40.

You forgot the hammer, Fern. If it moves, hammer it into place so it doesn't move. Then apply the duct tape. If it doesn't move, spray it with WD-40, then hammer it to break it loose.

Any type of wart...and I guess it suffocates it.

We used clear duct tape that I found at Target so she wouldn't be embarassed if she removed her shoes and socks.

It funny, my DD and her boy friend where talking about this just yesterday.

He also said it was the only thing that worked for him.

I thought it DIDN'T work on plantar warts, only on the other kind. If the plantar warts come back (which, unfortunately, most warts do)...take the kid to a chiropractor. I had them and the treatment was completely, amazingly unpainful. The kid might need a sedative if she's just generally afraid of doctors, but the treatment didn't hurt at all--the bottoms of your feet aren't all that sensitive, apparently.

What also works very well is to apply castor oil morning and night for a week or so, wart just falls off

If the wart comes back we might give this a try!

We used the duct tape for DD's plantar wart and it worked for us, too. That was about two or three years ago and it hasn't come back. Doctor told us it had to be black duct tape, but that was only because black duct tape was used in the study he read. You used clear, so guess it works with any kind!
