  • Need some Missouri help

I'm looking at buying a vehicle from a dealership in Springfield, MO. What are the winters like there? Does it get icy in the winter for salt to be used on the roads to melt it? I'm trying to see what weather concerns I should be aware of (in addition to buying from a used car dealer)!

I know it's a shot in the dark but has anyone heard of Autoworld of Springfield?

Missouri or Massachusetts? (Missouri in the headline, Massachusetts in the message, they both have Springfields.) I think they both get snow and use salt.

Sorry. I had it originally as Missouri and then read it was MA so I changed it. I've relooked and confirmed it is Missouri and changed it back.

I Live outside Kansas City, MO. and the answer is yes... The last few years its been more Ice than snow but last year it was quite a bit of both. Missouri tends to use a lot of salt when "they" forcast Ice or freezing rain. MODOT tries to be pro-active. With Springfield being in the southern part of the state it is a little different. The thing is, even in cold weather(freezing), you need to wash your car. At least wash the salt off every so often. Just make sure you park in a garage after you was so the locks don't freeze.

Hey, you're worrying about nothing. Buying aused car is a crapshoot everywhere/anywhere.

We buy our vehicles from a salvage dealer in Des Moines. They have been just fine, or close enough. Well, they have been worth way more than the price.

I was gonna go see what they had last Wed when I was in DM for Court, but the dealer is over in one of those flood-prone areas, and it was a perfectly yucky, rainy day, flooding imminent. Everything they have is on their website anyway. Both of what we are now driving we saw on their site, called Jimmy to get his opin, then drove the 450 miles to pick them up.

If you understood the used car industry, you would know that the stuff sitting in any Springfield could have come from anywhere else.

Oh yeah, the vehicle we own that we bought new from a dealer is piece a ----, and has been from day one, and it is a buy-back replacement for another piece a --- bought new from the dealer.
