  • At Cypress Harbour -- B-I-L died :(

I can't sleep and just thought I'd post about how wonderful all the staff at Cypress Harbour in Orlando have been to us. My brother-in-law was out on the beautiful screened in porch, looking over the pond -- enjoying his morning coffee. 30 mins later, he was dead of a massive heart attack. We've all been here for a surprise 70th birthday party for my dad -- 17 family members. We have 3 units here and were supposed to check out of one of them this morning. they gave us the room for another night free of charge. they have visited my sister and offered any help they could. They have been absolutely wonderful. It's been so hard and I'm so sad. My brother-in-law was dying in front of his kids and my son. I'm beyond sad. I just want to wake up and find this is all a bad dream.

I am so sorry to hear this. How old was your BIL? First it's Tim Russert and now your BIL. I hope there is better diagnostics/prevention for heart attack soon.

Debi, how tragic for your family - the only positive I can think of is that you were all together when this happened and are able to support your sister at this time.

{{{HUGS}}} to you and your entire family

I am so sorry to hear this. We know what you are going through. We took 34 members of our family to Orlando in December for mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary (part of us were at Cypress Harbour). 12 days after we got back, my brother-in-law collapsed from a heart attack (he was 41). He was revived and was in a coma for 13 days. My sister had to make the difficult decision to take him off life support. We will pray for your family.

The staff at Cypress Harbour are so nice. When we went back to Cypress Harbour in March, one of their employee's (a sweet gal) stopped me and asked how all the family was (she rememberd us from the big celebration) and I just burst into tears. She hugged me and shed some tears with me.

Sorry to hear that this happened in front of the kids. Try to explain that he is in heaven and we all will meet up there one day.
