  • George Carlin died...

Love him or hate him, many of us grew up listening secretly to his Seven Dirty Words, only to later watch him with our kids on Thomas the Tank Engine... well, the man leaves an interesting legacy I suppose...

I'm in the "love him" category. I did a big "Oh no!" when I saw the heading on your post. I'm sad

We just saw him about a year ago.....he was still at his best. Sad news.

Yeah, me too. He was a legend. A first. Long before the tackier masses of the me-too only grosser variety.

We saw him about 5 years ago here in San Diego. It was one of the most memorable shows DH and I have been to. Sad....

Sorry to hear of his demise. He was always a great one with words. I suppose he finally learned whether or not his own personal take on God was correct of if he made a minor error in his belief.

He was enjoyed by my generation and then by my children (as they grew up). He was unique.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We just saw him on May 30! And we were saying how great he looked and how he had incredible stamina. He did a show that lasted just over an hour, and you know how his delivery is like rat-a-tat-a-tat, really fast, all words. And we were at the early show--he had another later show that night and two shows at another nearby theater the next night and I think two more the night after that!

We took our oldest DD. I'm glad she got a chance to see him. He was great.

My wife called me from work to tell me because I was am a big fan!

I have seen him over the years about five times and he leaves you laughing everytime. I was lucky enough to have met him twice and he was one of the nicest show people you could meet.

I took my wife about 10 years ago to see him and she was a fan from then on.

I still have his records but no record player so can not listen any longer.

To many of us baby boomers he will be missed!
