  • Does Your Car Have a Name ??

Connie/grest's post was the impetus for this thread ! (Blame her ! )

Have you ever given your car a name ? If so, what is it ? Any in the past ?

Mine is "The Silver Swede". Soon to be "The Late Silver Swede".

I don't name cars but my DW does. Her Toyota is "Bo". Her family's Volvo was Otto. She and my kids named their old car Woody. I don't know the name of my kids new car now.

I call mine "the Jeep" so it's not confused with "the car."

      Yes, I know, very original.

My current car is the only one I've ever named...Jaws...took one look at the grille and the name was a natural fit. That's James Bond's Jaws rather than Jaws' Jaws!

I think my DD calls her car "Roberta."

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

As long as it isn't "Christine" () I'm not worried.

I dunno, we're just not that adorable. The station wagon is the white car and the Corolla is the blue car. That seems to cover all the bases.

Up until 1994 all my cars had names. "Gelfling" had to go as an adorable 2 seater wasn't going to suit a family of 3.

My current car was "the Honda" up until 18 months ago when another Honda arrived in the driveway. So now they are "mine" and "yours" interchangably. It becomes increasingly difficult to name cars when they all look pretty similar.

I don't name my cars, but I did name my GPS. I just felt that something that talks to me has to have a name. She's Mabel. No real reason, but dh agreed that should be her name. Dd named both her GPS and car. GPS is Sally and car is Jack.

I'm with Lawren only here it's two black Camrys, hence "mine" and "yours", or when referred to by Those Kids, "Mommy's car" and "Daddy's car."

It all depends on how my car is running. Most of the time i call her Honey sometimes it's Beach.

Never did, but I call the last two "ten n"- just to annoy the Saturn people.

We have at times in the past, but not currently. One was "Galloping Gertie (Gertrude)". We also had Emmy. Right now, we just call them by model.... Sigh, so boring. Our GPS too has a name, but not terribly original, "Maggie" for Magellan.
