  • Glucosamine or something better for joints?

I am getting old and falling apart.

My left shoulder hurts, and I figured that since I sleep on my left side, that may be the cause. Knees have been going for a while, right shoulder is kind of painfull at time.

I have heard that Glucosamine is supposed to be the joint aid suppliment. DW bought Glucosamine with MSM and Chondroitin. Have taken it only a couple days and it seems to be helping. Not fully recovered by any means, but I can actually put my arm out to the side with less pain.

Anyone have experience with joint pain and what works for it?

      Glucosamine helps

I've been playing volleyball for well over 20 years now. My knees hurt really bad to the point that I can't jump anymore. After taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin, I feel a lot younger and could play again.

Sorry, I didn't mean for this to sound like an ad.

I used glucosamine for a while and it helped right away. I haven't taken any for a while...thanks for reminding me! I think I need to get some more...

I buy it for my wife. She takes it every day for her knees and it seems to help.

Great help with the answers! I was hoping I was going the right way. Aspirin did not help. Wife figures it is all in my head, but your answers prove out that it does help.

A friend who has had arthritis for many years recommended it to me.

I've had a bad right knee for a couple of years now. It was so bad at one point that I had to use a walker to get around. I had Supartz injections and also began taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin. The shots can be redone after six months, but I've been pain free enough that I haven't needed them. I need a cane in some circumstances (still better than a walker), but I think the Glucosamine and Chondroitin has made a huge difference.

I've always used Move Free, which is a brand name Glucosamine and Chondroitin medicine. That's what I started with. Its more expensive than generics, but I generally get it buy one, get one free. Its often that way at either Walgreens or CVS. Sam's also carries it at a discount.

                    Glucosamine and Chondroitin... YES

Caroll has improved so much that I was convinced to get on it also.

With the injuries I've had, I doubt I'd be getting around so well this soon had I not been on this.

I swear by glucosamine. To really feel its full benefits, you need to take it for at least two months.

                        Finally went to doctor

Well, after 5 months of hurting, I finally went to a doctor for my shoulder pain. I have Adhesive Capsulitis, or Frozen Shoulder.

He gave me three options which involve: pain, a distension hydroplasty shot with more pain, lots of pain and surgery. Pain is another word for therapy. I am going for the shot since he thinks I am beyond just therapy.

I was letting things slide with this, but my laptop recently start to drop and I reached for it and have never hurt so badly. Time for real help.

I hope this helps or I may have to give up kite flying...and several other things.

I decided to give this a try; good timing, thank you!, went to Walgreen's and it was on sale buy one get one free this week. Got 90 tablets for $19.99 plus 90 more free; guess that's a 2-month supply because it says to take 3 tablets a day. Hope this helps me; most days I wake up "stiff as a board" and my knuckles bother me a lot!
