  • Cold enough for ya?

It is currently 18 degrees below zero in Minneapolis. We are forcast to have a high of -2 degrees today. Where I went to broadcast school in the northern part of Minnesota, there is a town of Thief River Falls, it was -33 this morning. I don't think they will warm up too much today.

It is supposed to be colder Thursday morning.

Then on Monday...we have a forcast high of 32 degrees. We will have a temperature swing of about 50 degrees in 4-5 days.

I understand that cold is heading our way (upstate NY), but not as low as you have it there, I am glad to say. Supposed to be below 0 for a few days later this week. That's cold enough for me.
My niece lives in Fairbanks Alaska and they were -50 last week!!! Way too cold.
Stay warm, have a fire and drink some wine!!!

I'm just hoping they don't get ice storms in IL or IN as I will be driving from MSP to Florida next Thursday.

I think they DID get an ice storm in Chicago--they were saying on the news this morning that a lot of flights out of O'Hare were grounded.

It's cold here in northern NJ, but it's supposed to get down to the low teens later in the week. Ugh!

Yup....I read that New York was going to get some of the coldest days on record for January, in a long long, time.

Here in Fl it shows our local temperature as 70 degrees. All the locals are talking about how cold it is.

It is suppose to get into the teens by Friday here in NC. That's cold enuff for me. I don't understand how you can stand the cold winters in the north. It just baffles me. Give me 4 seasons that aren't below zero any day. shaggy

We had to escape our rough winter here in So. Cal as it was cold and rainy with snow in our local mountains. Three weeks in Maui fixed that.....we got back last Saturday to find a heat wave setting record highs for this time of year. Today is 83 degrees and tomorrow it should star cooling off to about 81.

Just for the record our economy is in tough shape, real estate stinks, and our state government is a joke.....so please don't move here...it is better in Florida so please move there if you have to move.

One advantage: it kills the big, nasty bugs. No cockroaches up there. And then there are all the fun winter sports, such as ice fishing, and uh, um... ok, one winter sport.

My obligatory cold weather story: I attended college in Fargo, ND. My senior year, we had a cold snap in the beginning of February where, for 5 full days, the high temperature for the day did not get above -20F!! The lows were in the range of -40 to -45. Yes, that was a record. Heck, we used to call Minneapolis "the balmy south".

I hear you. High temps here in Fort Myers will drop into the 60's for the next six days. We may need to jump into the pool to warm up.

I think that 4A is bulldozing us with that song and dance about buying in FL, instead of CA. Doesn't sound like he wants to share his good weather with us.

Kurt, if you know Fargo, then maybe you remember, if you drive east on 94 about an hour, you come to Fergus Falls. That is where I grew up, so I can relate to your Fargo story well. As I mentioned in the first post, I spend a winter in Thief River Falls. I remember many days below zero. And a lot of snow. So yes...Minneapolis is warm. But still, it gets cold. I had a car steering wheel crack/split when it was very cold one night.

Forcast high today of -5, -20 for tonight and -4 tomorrow's high. Went below zero on Monday night, we won't get over zero degrees until Friday afternoon. Now our above 30 temp won't happen until Tuesday followed by a cold spell.
