    Haven't heard Roomba mentioned here recently but I just want to applaud irobot for their excellent customer service. This is the 2nd time I've had to contact them for a problem and they courteously solved the problem on the phone.

    My roomba has been working ok on my tile floors but on my carpet it just goes a little and then stops. The motor runs but the roomba doesn't move and the dirt collects behind the filter instead of in the cup.

    The gentleman had me take the cup off and check to see if the brushes go around. Voila, no brush movement. Then he had me remove the brush and check to see if there was a little yellow cap on the end. Voila,no yellow cap. He ordered it for me (2 in a pack for $5.99 plus shipping. It took all of 10 minutes and at a cost of $6+.

    Now I can clean my floors again.

    Nice to have excellent customer service and to be able to solve your problem for a cheap price. Hats off to Roomba!

      Was the yellow cap supposed to come with it and got lost at some stage or did you never have it. I was just wondering why he charged you instead of sending out for free.

      Am thinking of purchasing a roomba once we get our house. Does it work over floor boards?

        I forget what he called the yellow cap but you can tell that something used to be there and broke off. My roomba is probably close to 2 yrs old so I didn't expect one for free and I can't argue the price.

        I don't have any wood floors but it works on carpet and ceramic tile. I believe it works on wood floors, though.

            I LOVE my 500 series Roomba....much improved over the old one.
