  • Finally, SNOW!!!!

We got a light dusting and hopefully get more tonight. They've already deceided to close schools in am (and the roads arn't even slick!! shaggy

If they closed schools for every "light dusting" here, the kids would never be in school!

Let us know if you get enough to scrounge up a snowman.

    Enjoy!

      Shaggy,

Your post made me laugh ~ and brought back memories too. When Susan first moved to Charlston, she called us in hysterics one night. Seems the temp had dipped enough one night to freeze the water in a pothole ~ the Cops had an orange cone on it and were directing traffic around it. Years later, when Kenny was down Quantico, whenever there was snow or ice on the ground, only he and another kid from Maine were allowed to drive the Cruisers ~ everyone else cracked them up!

Thanks for the laugh!! (You can have all our snow if you'd like! )

We've had 2 1/2 times the average snowfall for the entire winter already. But even though it's far too much for my preferences, it's still a lot less than we had in Rochester, NY. Now that's a place with snow!!

          Shaggy,
          You are meteriologically (sp?) challenged.

            Shaggy,
Be careful what you wish for!!
Years ago when my son was at UNC he was home for Christmas and they got 5 inches of snow in Chapel Hill and he drove back a day or two late because he said he didn't want to drive down there in the snow because most folks there drove crazy in the snow!! lol

Well, shoot. If I'd've known you wanted some, I could have sent you some of mine.

Finally, SNOW!!!!.......Wish that I could say that, instead of "Oh NO, not more snow!"

I am really sick of snow. And furthermore, the location of the front of my house is a huge disadvantage when it snows. The front of my house faces north. Yesterday, the snow was coming in from the north, so we have 4 inches of snow (by my ruler measurement), and across the street has barely a coating. And to make it worse, my walkway and driveway never get the sun. So the ice and snow stay forever, while across the street, there driveways are dry. This AM, I could not get the 2 front doors of the car open. I was able to get in the back, and start the car. Then my DH came out, in his PJ's and slippers, after having hernia surgery yesterday. He climbed in the back and pushed the driver door open while I pulled from the outside. God, I hate winter!

A week or so ago our paper (Ft. Myers News-Press) had a cartoon on the editorial page..2 frames. 1st. one had a person calling a friend up north complaining about 'we have to cover our tomatoes tonight'. The second frame was the 'Northerner' covered up in snow with shovel..rolling his eyes. Yeah....tonight and tomorrow night we are due for our second hard frost (maybe high 20's here) in about 2 weeks. Now THAT is unusual for us. I pity the poor tomato growers who have acres and acres to worry about and the citrus growers and strawberry growers and anything else that is making their living.

Ditto......Minus the car situation, and the DH with the hernia surgery.

I just got back from a week in friggin freezin Charlotte! The 3 of us who went there for training instead of Philly thought we were so lucky. NOT! Tuesday morning the cars were covered with snow and the parking lot was very icy. Haven't they heard of ice melt?
