Medullary Sponge Kidney

My sister ended up in the ER on Sunday with a kidney stone. After having another ultrasound on Tues, it appears she has Medullary Sponge Kidney. Actually it's both kidneys and you are born with it. From what we read it's not life threatening but it's characterized by kidney stones and UTI's. She's going to a Urologist next week to confirm the diagnosis.

Anyone else have this? Neither one of us had ever heard of it before.

I studied it once, but have never known/seen a pt. in practice with it.
