  • National Teacher Day !

    Thank you, teachers !!!!!

    NEA - National Teacher Day

Because of a few special ones, I am blessed with a love of history, geography, literature and language.
Let's forget about the geometry, trig and calculus, shall we ?

    THANK YOU !!!!

As my youngest graduates this spring, I look back on many years of teachers, and recognize the few amazing ones. A gifted teacher not only has passion and enthusiasm, but also a way of bringing out the best in their students.
We will certainly be making our appreciation known.

Funny to see this right now -- I just sent my son, who graduates from H.S. next month, off to school with 2 letters to 2 teachers who made a difference in his school life.
Every year we talk about who we think were good for him and it's a short list -- only the one in all 4 years of HS (the other one recommended him for a scholarship, when I found out it made me cry) and a total of 4 for all the years before HS.
As they are few and far between, it's especially important to me to personally thank each one for making a difference in my son's self esteem and life.

Great teachers are certainly one of life's true blessings! I had a few that still to this day left me with thoughts or lessons that impact me on an almost daily basis...

It's such a difficult job (even more so in today's society in my opinion) and one that far too often doesn't get the status it deserves.

I also try to get my daughter to write a "Thank You" letter to any teacher that she feels a connection with at the end of the year or term. She looks at me strange when I "request" she do so- but I hope the reason behind it finally sinks in.

Recently, I was told that a favorite teacher of mine had passed away- and I regretted never taking the time to really say "Thank You".

Thanks for the reminder about the day.
