I've only had two different French Press makers. One of the presses was called unbreakable. It had a plastic beaker. The press part was made of plastic and a screen that broke after about a half years use. So it really wasn't unbreakable. I like my Bodum press. I have two different sizes. The only thing you have to worry about is breaking the glass beaker. It is made out of a Pyrex type glass because it can handle water temp differences. Bumping it can be a problem. They have a order form in the package to order replacement parts. The coffee from a press tastes great. You just have to get used to the sludge at the bottom of the cup.
