Jerry and I still talk about news and friends and "stuff," but we argue less and less as the years go by. When we were first married, Jerry's style was to yell. I learned quickly and matched him. Somebody asked my mother if she was upset that he yelled, and she said No, because I yelled back. Sometime about four or five years into the marriage that stopped.
We're now married almost 30 years (next month). Our style now is often "get outta my head," meaning we are both thinking of the same thing at the same time, whether it is something to do, a place to go, what to have for dinner, or whatever.
It helps if you are married to your best friend, and I am.
