  • What is your average spending during a week's TS vacation?

Not counting your airfare/gasoline, maintenance fees or surcharges, what do you usually find yourself spending during your week timesharing?

We are frugal, actually have to be frugal due to limited income and budget. For one average travel week, I would say we average about $250 to $400 in spending...this would include any activity, food shopping and dining out, and tips. Of course, if there is a super activity that costs more, we would be spending more than $400....but rarely would our budget be pushed beyond the $400 to accommodate for dining out.

How much do you usually spend?
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

You are right on. This is exactly why we bought a timeshare. It is so much more economical to be able to even provide breakfast and dinner at your unit, not to mention the comfort. We generally go out to dinner once, maybe twice to try a local place - we have so many franchises in our neck of the woods.

We spend between $700-1000 per week depending on how many tours we do. We do not cook any meals.

I have 2 timeshares, one is at an All Inclusive in Mexico so other than duty free and tips on the resort we spend very little. We do however always take in one of the offered tours or a beer cruise which may cost a $100 or so.

The 2nd is in Las Vegas which we nearly always exchange for the Caribean (Hawaii this year). On this vacation we usually spend plenty, we always rent a car for the 2 week duration and my wife always buys some jewelry each time we go. We eat out at least 60% of the time and NEVER stay in on a evening, always find a pub or somewhere that has live entertainment. The way I look at it I can stay at home and watch the television, why go on vacation to do that. Anyway I would say I spend $2,000+ on my 2 week vacation, over and above the accomodation and flights.

Under $500. We're not big on tours and attractions but enjoy exploring on our own.

For a family of four we spend about $300 on meals, groceries, snacks, wine and beer (it's not a vacation if I can't drink). Depending upon where we go, we may spend anywhere from $200 to $400 for souveniers and activities. We try to keep costs to a minimum, yet still have fun. We bought the TS to save money on vacations and have a place to take family and friends.

Depending upon where we are going, someplace new with lots of touristy things to see, someplace where we'll need to eat out more or one of our favorite resorts where we just hang around, relax and enjoy the resort for itself, our spending can range from a low of maybe $300 upwards of $1,700 per week. This would not be counting rental cars if we're at a fly to vacation

We eat out at least 4 times, mostly 5 or more. That adds up quick. If there's a bar with a happy hour close by, forget about it, I need a 2nd mortgage when I get home. I'm guessing $1K minimum and as high as $1500.

We only eat breakfast in the unit. With activities, a tiny bit of shopping and a spa bill - we usually end up around $1,000.

I won't tell you when we go to the Grand Velas but for the rest, we are in line with everyone else.

If it's just the two of us, $300 to $400 covers it, often even less...if family comes along, add another $300 or so.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
