Are TV news shows part of your daily habit?

I remember how my parents couldn't wait to see Chet Huntley and David Brinkley or Walter Cronkite....then there was Brokaw, Rather, and now Couric and Williams....but I almost never watch these. I will occasionally catch Brian Williams nightly news, but not often.

With the internet, it seems TV news is old....how do you keep current?

I try to catch the local news on TV, but rely almost exclusively on the internet for national news.

I hate to admit it, but I do watch Nancy Grace now and again. She is always talking about cases I have an interest in.

But I hate that every night they say "Breaking news!" like something huge happened and then it is the same stuff you have already heard.

I also hate that she is so rude to her guest commentators. She invites defense lawyers to be on her show and then ridicules them for everything they say.

Can't stand N.Grace- won't watch her. My Mrs. has to watch the local and CBS evening news daily.

I get the majority of my news on the internet.

My wife watches 11:00PM news most nites. I watch it sometimes but don't really care if I miss it. I get most of my news from internet or from NPR radio which I usually have on in the car. I like the BBC on NPR because it gives such a different perspective than most of our new here stateside.

I'm usually awake early (5 AM or even earlier) so I turn on my local news, then go back to sleep. I read the daily paper with breakfast, and would miss it if I no longer got it. I try to watch the evening news, again local, but I don't always. I almost never watch national news. I don't watch 60 Minutes, Dateline, etc.

I've set up a Yahoo page with the news summaries I am interested in, and I read that in the morning. I also check the front pages of about six papers from Newseum. In addition I am registered to get email news flashes from a local television station and the Review Journal. I frequently get "breaking news" that way first. I also get a daily summary from both of these, which is helpful when I am on vacation.

I've also discovered that my local newspaper has a mobile version, which has no graphics, so it loads faster. If I'm on a timed connection I use it, http://www.lvrj.com/mobile

We don't catch nightly news on television. My homepage is MSNBC, so I see that each morning when I log on. I did recently subscribe to the Wall Street Journal, and am really enjoying this medium again.

Nope. With a day job I miss all the morning shows (I'm not one to get up early and linger with coffee over the paper). I will usually watch either early evening or late night local news. I sometimes will watch the evening national news, but don't turn on CNN or any of those.

We get the daily paper which I browse.

I watch the local news in the morning, then a few minutes of Good Morning America. I also watch the 10 or 11 PM broadcasts. I read my Boston Globe in the evening. I guess I'm a news junkie.

I am in Switzerland on a business trip and the only English station is the International CNN. I wish we'd get the US CNN. There are too many stories here that I don't give a hoot about - like some cricket player (I think) who was sent home in disgrace.
