  • Timeshare Relief ?

Today we received a 'letter' from Timeshare relief announcing that they will be in our area next week end. And they are offering a $25 gas card if we attend. DH wants to go and I said 'No, these are not one of the good guys'. His answer was "well how else can we earn $25 so easy and say no"

I did a search here, but came up with nothing...will/can someone help me out here? To me this would be worse that going to a t/s presentation! No, we don't use our t/s's but this is not the way to go to get rid of them. I need something to convince DH of this. TIA.

They are one of the 'original' Post Card Companies (PCCs) and about the only one that gives you an incentive for going to their 90 minute presentation. They will do what they say they will do.

They provide a service for those who can't manage otherwise. Their fee is about $2995 to rid you of your timeshare.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

The PCC's are not truthful in their business, and are a scam.

It would be nice to alert the Real Estate Commission of their presence and have one of their people go and sit in. Maybe that could help put some of these sharks out of business.

Maybe they take you timeshare off your hands. The complaint about these companies that comes to mind is they don't transfer the title until they find someone to take it. If that takes so long that the MF's for next year come due, people have found that the title is still in their name and they get tagged for the bill or, take the hit on their credit record. It might be pushing it to say these guys do what they say they're going to do. One must follow up to be certain that the title is actaully transfered out of their name and into Timeshare Reliefs name before you can be certain you are free from your timeshare.

Basically, they're a rip off. You pay them $2,995 (or whatever their fee is today) and they try to give you timeshare away on E-bay. Whatever they make on E-bay they keep PLUS, the have the buyer pay the closing costs. It's one of the biggest scams I've seen in a long time.

Joann, your husband is mistaken if he thinks this will be a walk in the park.... give him the $25 yourself and spend the time together instead.

Really desperate people attend these presentation - I just don't think it will be pleasant.

Thanks to all. I let DH read these posts & some articles I printed out and he threw them away. Nothing more has been said about going I wouldn't have gone anyway...and I'm the driver in the house. He just doesn't always (?) believe me.

....and you forgot that when you transfer it the MFs must be up to date, yet the eBay listings require buyer to pay it again.

All I can say is what I've read. Whether or not they actually do what they say isn't based on any personal experience I've had with them. Have you had any personal experience with them or are you going by what you've heard and read also?

I can not say where I've read the complaint. I do not desire to spend the time to prove my point by researching all the past threads I've read on TUG. All I can say is that I haver read their name frequently and that I have also read complaints that nothing it transfered by this type of company until after they have found a new owner, that people have been billed MF's when this type of company hasn't transfered the ownership, that they have ignored said MF billings because they signed transfer paperwork and that they have seen their credit damaged because Timeshare Relief and others like them have NOT done what they promised in a timely mannner.

However, without personal experience I can only report what I believe I have read elsewhere. For me to recall it, I believe I have read it more than once or twice and, I'm quite certain it was Timeshare Relief because it has been the only PCC who's website I've visited, just to see how they presented themselves in the face of what I have read.
