Since a number of our members have joined FB recently, I thought you might appreciate this....

Oh Crap. My Parents Joined Facebook.

My mom was technically on FaceBook before I was (but then she forgot she'd signed up...). Happily, she doesn't post that sort of thing.

Maybe I should send the link to my son - although I think I was on before he was as well...

Well, my DD won't allow me, DH, or aunts & uncles, to be her friend on facebook. She claims if you're older than 25, it's a no go.

My son is a whole different story. We actually joined facebook in order to keep in touch with him as much as possible. I'm also friends with a number of his friends.....They sent me a friend request. I would never impose on them, otherwise. At any rate, my son gets a kick out of seeing us post on his friends comments before he does. He doesn't have a problem with it.

BTW......It cuts both ways. I have to be very careful what I post, and don't post, so do my friends. After all, my son can see it all.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Ha! Good point! My kids won't let me near their FB accounts. DS14 had "friended" my girlfriend a while back, but has since "unfriended" her....

I LOVE facebook for keeping in touch with the 20 - 30 year olds in my life. No one has refused to be my friend yet, and I get to be "in the loop" with the comings and goings of kids, nieces, nephews, and their friends.

I have a few old fogies like myself as friends too - a great way to keep in touch with busy people.

That's what I love about Facebook. I hear more about/from my cousins and in-laws that way than I ever did through the family grapevine, and I'm really bad about picking up the phone and calling them but good about sending back a quick sentence or two, so it's terrific. Well, those days Facebook feels like talking to my computer it is.

Also, a deaconess and now my pastor have spent time in Indonesia since getting on Facebook, and it's a really nice way to "touch base" a few times a day for them. Much better than calling someone halfway around the world over the phone via Ham radio, the way we used to have to do in the military! Although computer contact offers even better options if people at both ends have a camera and whatnot.
