I had dish network. The customer service was good but the signal in my area was problematic because of the rain. If I lived out west where it was dryer I'd use them again.

Emails to DirecTV have done no good.

Customer service is very big with me right now, and some companies that are failing me are going to be loosing my business. That includes DirecTV and Discover Card.

      So...How about Dish Network?
I had Dish for many, many years. I found the customer service suberb. The only reason I left is I finally broke down and added a second TV to the house ( can you all tell I could live without TV except for football?). They wanted an exorbinant amount of money to come hook it up and would not bargain with me.

      Hence DirecTV now plays here.

BTW There is free NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV today! WOOHOO!

I rarely have service outages and we get some pretty hefty thunderstorms and blizzards. Just not daily like the people in Florida. Maybe go out for 5 minutes during a very bad storm.

We have DISH to 5 TVs, two incoming phone lines & high speed internet for $106/month. That is down about $50 after a little finaggling.

We had Dish for a few years. Just switched to cable ... solely because of the bundle price for high speed internet, phone and cable.

We really liked Dish and if I could have gotten a comparable deal, we would have stayed with them.

Yes, in severe rain/wind blowing situations, we would lose our TV signal. I looked at it as blessing in disguise. It gave us an opportunity to do something else!

Living in Tornado Alley, and since I live far enough away from Wichita / Oklahoma City to be in a fringe area for OTA reception, I chose the local cable company so that I wouldn't have outages during particularly stormy periods.

When my wife and I were full-timing in our RV a few years back (we had a satellite dish on top) we subscribed to DirecTV, and liked the product, wasn't too enthusiastic about the customer service.

My local cable company provides 94 channels, including 9 pay movie channels, VOIP telephone service, and high-speed internet for $115/month.

The only really bad thing about my deal is that the local cable company doesn't provide HD channels. The channels are mostly analog with some digital. The picture is good, but HD is not an option, at least until the owner of the local cable company decides to change his policies...

Where do you live, JLB? $106/month for DISH is a heck of a deal!
