One cigarette is the same as a pack.

Place one here and there around your place, where you alone know where they are. Don't smoke them... wait a couple days and every time you get the urge, get out one and take a big sniff and maybe even lick it. Place it back in hiding. Do that when you think you need help. It should become pretty disgusting before long.

Nice to know you aren't sick!
No excuse not to be cleaning. LOL

Here's a question for you that have quit or know someone that has.

Music is important to me. There is always music on in my house, in my car, on my computer and I know all the lyrics, to all the songs and I love to sing to them; or I used to. My voice is gone and I don't expect I'll ever get that clear high soprano back but...will I be able to hit most of the notes again, sometime?

My son said no way when I was driving him to school this morning and honestly I was crestfallen.

I know it's a silly reason to quit smoking but it is one of them.

Some of it will come back once the vocal chords are not irritated. Will it ever be the same? Likely not, but it will be better than it currently is.....

Stay strong. While I have never been a smoker, my father was, and I believe it shortened his life. The long term benefits of quitting will outweigh the short term pain.

                  Lawren,

I read where a hot grog (one part tea, 12 parts good Scottish Whiskey) is recommended for voice loss.

Try this: Don't sing for awhile... just sip hot grog and gently hum!

Robert it loses a bit in translation when a woman says "More grog wench!".

Fessing up here. I had a bit of a breakdown yesterday. During my cleaning spree I found 2 cigarettes. I smoked them. They were stale and tasted very nasty and made me light headed and ill but I smoked them anyway.

However I woke up this morning and did not crave with coffee. Hopefully I can stick to the straight and narrow now. Hardly any of my friends smoke so I won't be throwing myself in harm's way. My usual gas station doesn't sell them.

Got through today but I'm not sure how....food. My son thinks this is GREAT! They had a half day today so he came home and we had our favorite sandwich. Sausalito turkey, swiss and avacado on whole grain with mayo. Then I had to have toll house cookies which ended up being toll house cookie bars from scratch. Dinner a couple of hours later which wasn't bad for you if you hadn't already gorged on the cookie bars earlier....

Opened today's mail and really had to fight the immediate impulse to go buy a pack of cigs with another cookie bar, a few phone calls and a beer...

                              Lawren,
Congrats on your progress and keep up the good work. It is an extremely hard task but, hey, you do ExOps here and have dealt with RCI and other weaselly groups so we know you can conquer this. lol

So right, Gophish....the one thing that we have witnessed is Lawren's ability to take on the tough stuff....we know she can do this, in fact, it is a lot easier than trying to decipher RCI
