I'm glad you're still working it! You go - you can do it.

Never a smoker and never could understand how difficult it was to stop. But reading this sure gave me an idea of how hard this is for you.

        YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Yes, Lawren can do it if she keeps focussing on the extra trips she will be able to take.

Start dreaming, Lawren, and keep yourself busy finding the places where you would like to go in the future. You can do it and you will because we will keep reminding you that you can beat this habit. Others have done it before you and feel so much better.

Keep it up, girl! I quit smoking cold turkey 20 years ago after years of trying. Fortunately, I had some very supportive folks around me. As I recall, the first 2 weeks were absolute torture, but it got better after that. Took me a year before the smell started revolting rather than enticing me!

                Lawren,
Kudos to you for what you are doing. I have tried and failed many times. I wore the patch once for 2 hours, then ripped it off and smoked. One day i will have the courage you are displaying.

You are strong, you are invincible you are...you know the ending to that song. lol Hang in there Lawren and be my mentor to do the same.

I'm glad I have you all to help me.

                    Thanks Frank.

2 isn't 20. and that next day I had no craving for that first of the day with my coffee.

I now picture the mound of 158 cigarette butts I haven't smoked. My sister gave me that little mind picture to use. I have a jar that has $64 in it. I'll have my airfare for GCM in no time.

Remember it takes as little as 1 to start up again. I know cause I stopped a dozen times and cheated each time. When I gave it up on New years day that was the last one I have ever smoked. I did stop 8 days prior and then smoke 1 at New Years and stopped from there.

A good friend of mine smoked way more than she thought she did. But we knew, we saw her light one from another for years... She pretty much lived paycheck to paycheck at the time, and was always saying she was envious of the trips I took every year. So, one day I just told her that she could go to Hawaii every year, without making 1 penny more than she did now. Quit smoking. She wouldn't believe me, so I did the math for her (she only looked at the day to day purchases, never the big picture).
It took her a few years to really get it, and more than a few attempts, but she has now been smoke free for several years! AND she now travels!!

My brother quit, but only after having lung cancer and a huge surgery. Even then, he said it was difficult! He plastered photo's of lungs damaged from smoking all over his place to remind him of the pain and worry. Finally worked.

Whatever works for you, I hope you find it soon! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!
