  • Well, now, don''t kick yourself to the curb. You've still got it in you. Maybe it will take longer, but you'll do it. You need to want to, and you do, so you have the hardest part licked.

I wish I could have been around more. :::sigh::: Next time, feel free to use me as your sounding post.

I know you can do it. AND YOU WILL. My mom used to tell me nothing beats a failure but a try. So just pick yourself up and try again. You'll do it, I know you will.

But I did learn something here. I can quit. I quit for nearly 11 days and this is only the second time in my 33 year smoking life that I have quit. It can be done! I just need a little more practice and a few less outside stressors.

Am I dissapointed in myself? Absolutely.

    • Robert here.

I do hope you are free of sucking up smoke.

Each time you get the urge to light up, get your mind on that jar. Dump out the contense and count.
October 7, you had $64. That was a month ago.
Figure out how many cigs you have done without since then. Are you putting in the proper amount?

I dropped off four bags to the Goodwill Store. Most was outdated and too skinny clothing. Caroll sits watching TV, so is gaining weight.
She has been 5 months again, this time. Now... if I can get her to walk with me.

We are suppose to shop for a bike with a comfy seat. Caroll thinks she would ride. At least her mind is there.

The time before that she quit and saved over $600 in the 5 month period. This time she had cut down by half and so this 5 months there's $300 NOT spent for tobacco.

More than that $900 has been spent on clothing, shoes and purses, but she at least isn't poluting her lungs and I'll have to admit, Caroll looks great in the new outfits.

The health issue has finally opened her eyes. Continue to smoke... you are killing yourself. You won't be able to travel. You won't be around to enjoy your great grand daughter.
Caroll was able to ride for an hour or two at a time. We made the trip to Michigan and came back by way of Nashville. So, you see, she is getting more oxygen now.

Lawren, you too can stop the addiction to smoke from the tobacco weed.

I hope the tobacco farmers find another profitable crop to grow. But then that's another story!

          The Great American Smokeout

          A great day to quit

The Great American Smokeout is a challenge to quit using tobacco Thursday. It's intended to encourage people to quit forever.

Beginnings: The Great American Smokeout began in the 1970s, when smoking was commonplace. What are the origins of the Smokeout?

Progress: In 1965, 42% of U.S. adults smoked cigarettes. That percentage has changed quite a bit.

Overseas: Despite most European countries' higher cigarette taxes and stricter smoking regulations, Europe's smoking population is larger than the U.S. smoking population. How do experts explain this disparity?

Bad influences: Some filmmakers have accepted large sums of money to place tobacco products in their characters' hands.

Uncertain censorship: Which country's high court overturned a ban on smoking in film and television?

Lowering the influence: Tobacco advertising has been greatly curbed worldwide.

Some alternatives: Are light cigarettes healthier? What about natural cigarettes?

Do it: The American Cancer Society -- the promoters of the Great American Smokeout -- provide many resources to help you quit.

Healthy trend: What do most people say is the most effective way to quit?

Why quit? Do it for your health, the money, the environment, or for the people around you.

                • You people are relentless. Thanks.

I talked to my Dr a week ago Monday about reattempting this. She felt my stress was at outrageous levels and because I'm sleeping so poorly she wanted to address that first. Felt Ambien and Chantix weren't a good mix.

FWIW the Ambien didn't work. I need to go back in...

                      Nancy,

From what I've heard it works or it doesn't. I think it is body chemistry. Lunestra might do it for me. I need to call and tell the doctor this current script doesn't do it for me.
