This is pretty much what it looks like on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Waterrock Knob today. Took 86 year old Mom on a one mile 'hike' to the top (6292ft) a 1000ft change in elevation from the parking area.

Beautiful!
I haven't decided on what the leaves will do up here in the lower Hudson Valley. They are starting to change, similar to your picture, but the weather has changed dramatically this week. We had snain yesterday.
They'll either be blazing by Wednesday or off the trees entirely by next weekend.
