  • Great news about Nancy!! (Pam read this!!)

As most of you know my friend Nancy is going thru cancer (like Pam) and she had some complications before starting radiation. She is doing so much better now and the prognosis is good but at a high risk of cancer returning because she had stage 3.

At one point she was bellyaching to me about her not having any boobs and that her hair was coming back in gray. Well, she is now in LOVE!!( Maybe) She was introduced to a man through the girl who cleans her house and he has been there through all her radiation and whatever she needs. I haven't seen her in weeks as y'all know how it is when you first meet someone, you forget about your friends and everything else.

The reason I said maybe is becaused she just called me as I was typing this and I told her I was giving everone here an update and she was in love. She said, not really, I'll have to tell you later. In other words he's over there and she can't talk. And this was after she called me last week and told me she was in love. I think it's best to just be friends.

She's thru with radiation but has to go to physical therapy twice a week due to her lymphadema? Still has a lot of fluid build up.

I'll see her next week even if she doesn't call me to come over. I've got to check out this fellow.

About time we had some good news!! Hugs, Shaggy

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Glad you read this Pam. She's had a tougher time with radiation than with chemo, but took her last treatment yesterday-- except for physical therapy. She said she looks sunburned. I'm very happy for her. She's calmed down a lot since she first got the diagnosis. I was very involved then but she knows she can call me anytime if she needs to.

Pam, I'm sending you positive vibes!!shaggy

gee, she had a double mastectomy and still needed radiation. That is really rough. It sounds like it must have spread out of the breasts.
I did not lose my hair, but it was a mess, sticking straight out of my head in every direction. Then almost a year later it started becoming wavy and I got all the body back. so I think it takes time for all the stress and poisons to work their way out of your body.

Since it is breast cancer awareness month, please be aware that you will not necessarily feel a lump if you have breast cancer. No surgeon was ever able to feel my breast cancers. One area showed up as suspicious on an MRI, they had trouble finding it to do a biopsy, it was invasive and 6 to 8 years old. My other cancers (13), were 5 years away from being feelable and one was stage 3, the rest stage 2.
Tell your friend it will get better.

Pat, it had gone into her lymph nodes and they couldn't get them all out, hence the radiation. She's been thru so much and I've tried to be there for her but you know what happens when you meet someone new. I do hope things continue to be ok. shaggy

I feel so lucky that my lymph nodes were clear and they had the technology to discover this before removing all of them. Even with only a few lymph nodes removed, I have to be careful. they won't even take blood pressure on that side. Your friend has another battle raging , with the side effects of the lymph node removal.

A friend had cancer 15 years ago. It was ductal, the most curable form. She had a radical mastectomy, all her lymph nodes removed, chemo and radiation. that was standard treatment then. thank god we have come a long way since then.
