    Please read....

    Hi all,
I was infected with a Trojan/Virus thru a facebook link which sent out emails to everyone in my address book (which I did not know)
It stole my facebook account and changed my password.
I went in, changed my password again and then went into all my friends pages and deleted the video that was there,
BUT, if u clicked thru from the email, u could be infected.

What it produces is a page that LOOKS like it is from microsoft telling u that u have a virus.

    DO NOT CLICK ON IT.

There is a fix on the TUG Lounge as I posted for help there.

I am so sorry this has happened as I really shoud have known better

I won't be online as my computer is infected - I will get on briefly thru my BB.

    Emmy/Wacky/Kapish, thanks for the email....

I got it too but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to my computer yet. I did shut down my computer when I realized it had infected me but not sure that is enough. I tried to do a Mcafee scan but it wouldn't run. Not sure if that is because of the virus but I've gotta get another virus software. Any suggestions?

If you think you have it one of the best sites to go to is ANTIVIRUS - Download - SOFTWARE - Buy - Antispyware - Antispam - Firewall - PANDA SECURITY and use there on line scan.

I have this virus, and it has rendered my computer unusable.

So far, I have tried McAfee, and Malware, with no luck.

I am unable to download Smithraudfix, or Superantispywear.....I get a pop up that says the administrator is preventing me from downloading an unverified program.

Until I get my computer cleaned, I'm not sure when I'll be back on-line.

I am currently in "safe mode" but can not stay on line for any length of time.

I sent out the warning to friends and one replied the same thing had happened to her husband.

I've now de-activated my account. Will that be enough to prevent getting it?

Only on facebook, but viruses are everywhere and it is important to have a AV program that will spot and isolate them. I have had very good luck with AVG and it is free. Be very careful before clicking on anything that pops up.

Yes, I was told to change my password asap.

I think that I might have gotten rid of the virus by running Malwarebytes, a second time, and a couple of other programs that I downloaded, as well. I'm on now, but I'm still in safe mode.

I'm afraid to give it a try out of safe mode, because this virus was insane!

                      Trojan

                      Guys,
I'm vrey green on the computer, but there is AVG....
GOOGLE IT . Seems to be a pretty good protection, very complex.
Not to mention, easy to use.... automatic updates...
                      Hope it helps,
                      WORTH TO TRY.

That is how they cleaned my computer

VIRUS Update - My husbands IT guy added AVG AVG Free - Download Free Antivirus and Antispyware for Windows 7, Vista and XP - a free program that finally cleaned up my machine. There were 32 viruses. The virus hacked into McAfee which was the route of the problem.

I got the same virus from facebook but it didn't kill the computer completely but is making my computer do funky things. I think it is now affecting my computer so I'm trying the AVG. Hopefully it will work.
