This is a nice idea but in our area this news never came out that I have seen!

Would be nice but just to much trouble now to dig out all my proof just for a meal.

    I969 long time ago!

Some of us carry our proof all the time. It was a very nice jovial staff and clientele at the College Park MD Applebees at lunch.

It was crowded and I didn't see them say 'no' to anyone that had anything to 'prove' it!

Just came home .... good meal. DH brought a copy of his DD-214, but didn't really need it - he wore his 1st CAV hat, and they needed no other proof. Was crowded, but such a nice gesture. I'd like to see them extend it to include dependents of active duty personnel. Would be a nice treat for them.

While I believe dependents put in service, too, it makes no sense to bankrupt the chain. The gesture cost Applebees a pretty penny and from what I saw there were many tables that paid for nothing but drinks. I took one of my dependents and probably spent as much as I would have had I not had the special. It was a nice experience even though the closest Applebees was 11miles away.
