Shark Week !

Well for all you loving beach goers out there comes along another "shark week" on discovery channel.
anybody out there a fan?
better yet anybody on the beach this week brave enough to watch?

My son is excited. He is normally in school when this airs and doesn't see it. This year he starts college (at a later date) so he is all ready to hunker down and watch.

He'll be watching alone.

My nieces did the shark cage dive in Hawaii. They said the cage was kind of a plexi-glass but it had an opening and the chum could float back in the cage so they would push it out. REALLY?? You paid money for this??

I was watching a travel channel show were they were shark diving in Hawaii and coudn't believe that one side of the cage only covered about halfway up maybe i couldnt see the plexi-glass but it looked totally opened to me.

You must not live near the ocean....

I live less than 1,000 feet from the Atlantic ocean. I moved here 15 years ago (from NY). The first few years I swam/played in the ocean almost every day. As time went by, the ocean seemed colder to me, so only swam May through November. THEN started hearing way more about shark bitings/sightings than I wanted to! I sometimes see sharks swimming in and out between surfers (who kind of ignore them). Now, unfortunately, I rarely play in the ocean. I hate being fearful, but know for a fact there are LOTS of sharks off our coast...
