I wish...I ditched HBO-might be time to pick it back up.

No cable. Have to wait till the whole season is available on Netflix.

The main CGI guy lives around here, though--I just read an article in the paper about the massive CGI undertaking involved in creating the Atlantic City boardwalk circa 1920. Pretty amazing!

Also, Steve Buscemi gives me the creeps.

Steve Buscemi is creepy, that's his draw.

I was a bit underwhelmed but will stay tuned another few weeks.

Of course! Classic. The Lucky actor looks to be set up with a nice career to come.

I plan to watch but haven't yet. Do have HBO, will see it this week. Seems to me like it will take a while to "get into" .

We took a trip to see the site where they filmed. Knew it would be all boarded up but we could figure out where they built the Boardwalk, all 300 feet. (doesn't it seem longer on the show??)
We could see a little bit in between the railroad type containers that they stacked around to keep you from really seeing anything and could see a small slice of a fake building from the set.
It is right on the water in Brooklyn (Greenpoint, Commercial Street) and you can see a skyline of lower Manhattan straight across the water. They must have done a lot of low shooting/airbrushing and tons of computer generated stuff to get it to look the way it does on screen.
I also have to laugh when they show a shot with ocean waves -- the waves are not there on the East River, this wasn't shot on the ocean. All very interesting to see and think about.
They have spent millions on this little project. (pilot was $20 million, boardwalk cost $5MM, plus all the promotion...hope it is successful for them.

A friend who worked as an extra said it was the most elaborate set he has EVER seen and he has been in the business for 30 yrs; he raved about the set all last winter.)
