Was a founding member of CCR.

I just though Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of those old time 60's band that faded away in glory.

Here I sit in my Den watching HDNet Concerts and John Fogarty is playing all of the great tunes from CCR.

Just caught up with this thread.
Not only was he a founding member but wrote most of their songs. He hadn't been able to play them because he had lost all the rights to them to the record company during one of those deals that used to be pretty normal in those times.
Just a couple of years ago he cut a deal with record company to record for themk again and as part of deal he got rights to all the songs he wrote.
We say him in concert two years ago in Saratoga just after he got the songs back and at 60 years old he blew the crowd away. He was so up to be playing those songs again that he put on an unbelieveable show. He was opening for Willie Nelson but he was by far the real show. great night.
