  • Your top 10 records of all time

I grew up with a radio station, WPLJ-NY, and they had a segment they ran once a week. "If you were stranded on a desert island....and you could bring 10 record albums (yeah back then, they were vinyl albums) which would you bring?" Usually asked to a popular performer.

I've let my thoughts wander on that thought a bit this weekend. I know my favorites change. Day to day. Mood to mood.

    In no particular order:

    Peter Gabriel - So
    Ramones - Rocket to Russia
    Beatles - Rubber Soul
Dylan - gotta research which one
    B52s - Meet the B52s
Garth Brooks _ whatever that LP was in 1991
Peter Paul and Mary - Blowing in the Wind
    Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Currently at a loss for the last 1.....tossing coins. LOL probably Springsteen, or the man in black, or DePeche Mode.

What are your Desert Island CDs

Is it fair to assume we can't pick "Best of" albums? That would make it too easy.

Sticky Fingers is def on my list.
Richard and Linda Thompson, Shoot out the Lights
James Taylor - Mud Slime Slim and the Blue Horizon
Emerson Lake and Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery (or Trilogy)
Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman
      Grateful Dead - American Beauty
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
      Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
      Bob Marley - Legend
CSNY - De ja vu (or Neil Young's Harvest)

Well, not quite 10, but getting there.

No Best of's, people, that's cheating! If we do that, we could make it "name your top 10 artists/bands -" where's the challenge?
