I see a lot of questions for the Kindle, what, not Nook love?????
My son loved his Kindle but now he has a HP Touchpad and I think he likes that more. Amazon came out with the new Fire to go against all the new Tablets but IMO I rather buy a Tablet.
My wife has the Sony. I think the Sony was a Borders deal, but is now being handled by B&N. She likes it, but if she is without it and sitting and waiting somewhere, she can bring out her Droid 3 and read a book on the screen. I can do the same on my Droid Bionic and may do that on the next trip or while waiting for an oil change.
My wife and I have Nooks. The main reason we got the Nook was to use it for borrowing books from our local library. If I was going to purchase a lot of electronic books, I would have gotten a Kindle.
I have a Nook color and love it. Got it for Christmas last year. I enjoy reading with it, doing crossword puzzles, sudoku and Scrabble too, especially with the touchscreen. I've taken it on trips and used the wifi to check my e-mail, though now I too have a Droid phone to do that. I've used the expansion slot to load my own photos and music onto it, as well as to load some word docs and spreadsheets to have handy for review as needed. My husband and I share a BN account (he has a first edition Nook) and he uses it more for library books than I do. I do kind of hope he asks for a Kindle Fire, though. Then he can have his own account and I don't have to wade through all his selections on my shelves to get to my own books!
Looking into getting a Nook tablet for my grandmother to pay bills instead of writing checks which she now does with a magnifying glass and play a few card games. She has a Nook which she loves. We were thinking IPad because she needs to have the face to face once a month or so because I don't always have the patience to spend 45 min- 1 hour teaching her to do something that shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to master. Hopefully the Nook tablet will work because the B&N store is closer than the Apple store.
