BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

R.I.P. Whitney. What a great loss of talent to the music community and to her fans.

Her version of the Star Spangled Banner was my very favorite. It brought tears to my eyes daily after 9/11.

Another very sad example of someone who seems to have it all - fame, fortune, beauty, talent, etc. - but somehow still missing some key component that would allow him/her to REALLY have it all - happiness.

I was surprised but not shocked as she's been on the road to diaster for some time now.

An example of how ugly Americans can be, I had to switch one of the links to one without vulgar, racial slurs.

Somethings I didn't know about Whitney Houston. She was one of the first, if not the first, black americans to be on the cover of 17 magazine. She had 7 consecutive number one hits. ("Saving All My Love for You", "How Will I Know", "Greatest Love of All", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)", "Didn't We Almost Have It All", "So Emotional" and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go")

I am sad to hear of her death. Why is it some with the most talent burn out so very young?

                        A loss.

Jennifer Hudson ( aka Chaka Khan ) was supposed to be preforming a tribute to Whitney on the Grammys tonight. (Whitney sang background vocals on Chaka's debut album). That has been cancelled.

I'm confused. Jennifer Hudson is not aka Chaka Khan. Jennifer Hudson was on American Idol, received an Oscar for Dreamgirls and is the spokesperson for Weight Watcher. Chaka Khan is another entertainer completely.....I think.

About the burning out early, did anyone ever read "Valley of the Dolls"? I always remember something in there about one of the characters who talked about her addictions and said something about how those with talent were all kind of crazy, and that was what made them great. I wonder how true that is at times.

Whitney Huston was a great talent, and it is a shame.

Sorry misquoted the article. Too many balls in the air at one time. Hudson is doing her tribute singing "I Will Always Love You"
