Almost finished reading 50 Shades trilogy

First, I am not much of a book reader. Lucky if I even pick up one during the coarse of a year. At the airport last week my 6YO was looking for a new book and I struck up a conversation with the clerk. Then thought, what the heck, I'll be at a resort for a few days and a cruise. Maybe I can relax enough to read. I asked the clerk for a suggestion and she handed me 50 Shade of Grey.

Holy crap - got into a bit on vacation - almost lost me for a second when the kinkery got a bit much. But, now once home I have emersed myself in the books. In the last week I finished the first, the second and almost done the the 3rd. (Granted not much else has been done around this house) Lucky I finally got out the chair this afternoon to go grocery shopping!!

Ok....why the post? I'm not going to be pleased when I no longer have this trilogy the read and I'm already thinking what should be the next book I purchase. But, I have no clue. I like the romance of this series, the bit of adventure and the soft erotica ok too.

Anyone have a suggestion for the next book?????

Tough question to answer. You state you are not a reader but enjoyed this series.

I am an avid reader of many genres but have not read these.

It is hard to recommend something for you when I have no clue as to how these books are written or know what drew you in.

Maybe Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series would work. They are older, historical fiction tales with romance in them as well (although from what I've gathered nowhere near 50 Shades). The first couple in the series were excellent. Lost me at book 4. I've listed them in order of publishing although they stand alone.

A Breath of Snow and Ashes

My wife is waiting for my son to down load it for her on her Kindle. He did it for my SIL and left out his mom. Everyone is talking about this book. I do noy read books but I may when my wife is done. I like that you can make the words bigger with te Kindle.

I like Lawren's suggestion. I really enjoyed the Outlander series. Enough spice, and a fair dose of humor. (make sure you read the author's intro )
The books are dense and require some suspension of disbelief (not something I am usually willing to do), but worth the effort.

I don't watch much TV so I wasn't aware of all the media fuss going on with these books! A quick google search has now brought me up to speed.

Humm...."mommy porn" is what I see as a description. I guess I will need to clarify the reason why I'm looking for my next author to start reading....

I liked the books more for the romance and the "what is going to happen to this couple next" theme. That is what kept the pages turning for me.

For me...the "mommy porn" part was interesting at first, but got a bit redundent by the second book and I started to breeze through those parts until story line went back to the relationship.

So...with that said......guess it is more of the romance with a bit of action that I'm looking for. Any authors come to mind now??

Heck - it may be 2015 until you get it. I would have sent you mind - but already on loan to a woman I work with.

For kicks I looked at ebay. Most 3 book sets are selling for $40! Practically what they cost new!

I would second the Outlander series of books. I can't wait for the next one to come out to find out what has happened to Jamie and Claire. If you do start the series, stick it out with the 1st book. Many have said the 1st half of the 1st book was hard to get into until a certain point when the story gets really interesting. (I am being vague here so I don't spoil it for you ).

I'm reading Book 1 now - I'd loan it to you when I'm done but I don't think you can loan from Nook to Kindle. At the rate I read, you might get the library one quicker anyway It was $9.99 for the Nook book - and I think about $30 for the series.

How about the Twilight books? They're the opposite of Fifty Shades in some ways--all romance, no sex--but maybe you would like the supernatural element. Very popular with people who don't really enjoy reading.

I'm reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" and I am finding it boring except for the sexual parts. The sexual parts just plan make me angry. It's a bunch of BS as far as I am concerned and The dominant should be shot!

Then why are you still reading it?
